Handmade Portraits: YOKOO (by etsy)

YOKOO is an artist who I’ve been following for a few years on Etsy. see my post from October 2009 (my first month of posting! wow!)

anywho - what a lovely video. I can’t help but fawn over artists’ processes. the mindset that one cultivates in order to be productive.

I respect, and attempt, to balance two notions YOKOO speaks about: the idea of sub-worlds, silence, of taking time for yourself, of being in control of your own movement through life. but also of hard work, of ‘being hardcore’ of the time and effort one puts into whatever comes naturally to them.

what patterns/environments/noises/routines/ makes you feel at peace, able to produce, and capable of living only in the moment: what must you do in order to remain a soul directing a body to make something lovely?
